Privacy Policy

Last updated: 16 June 2026

This policy explains what personal data Sales@Startups collects, why, and what rights you have. Sales@Startups is operated by Sales Upskill Ltd (“we”, “us”), the data controller for the purposes of UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

If you have any questions or want to exercise your rights, contact us at team@salesatstartups.com.

What we collect

When you create an account: your email address, your first and last name, an optional job role if you choose to select one, and a password. Passwords are stored in hashed form by our authentication provider; we never see or store your password in plain text.

Marketing preference: whether you have consented to receive updates from us.

When you use the library: a record of which resources you download or request, and when. We deliver PDFs to your inbox using a time-limited secure link rather than an in-browser download, so a record of the delivery is created.

When you submit an enquiry form (sponsorship, custom resources, or an expert submission): the details you provide, which may include your name, email, company, and message.

Analytics: we use our own first-party analytics to understand how the site is used. We record the pages visited, a randomly generated visitor identifier used to count unique visits, and your approximate country (derived from your IP address; we do not store your full IP address). This information is not linked to your name, email, or account, we do not use it to identify you as an individual, and we do not sell it or use it for advertising. We do not use third-party advertising networks or cross-site tracking tools.

Cookies and similar technologies

Our own analytics are first-party and do not set advertising cookies. However, some pages embed videos from YouTube. When you play an embedded video, YouTube (Google) may set its own cookies and collect data under Google’s privacy policy, over which we have no control. If you wish to avoid this, do not play embedded videos, or adjust your browser’s cookie settings. We are working to reduce this by using YouTube’s privacy-enhanced embed mode.

Why we use your data (legal bases)

  • To provide the service (create your account, deliver the resources you request): performance of our agreement with you, and our legitimate interest in running the library.
  • To send you marketing updates: your consent, given when you subscribe. You can withdraw it at any time (see below).
  • To respond to enquiries you submit: our legitimate interest in responding to you and, where relevant, taking steps toward a commercial arrangement.
  • For analytics: our legitimate interest in understanding and improving how the site is used, using data that does not identify you personally.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers that run the platform, acting on our instructions:

  • Supabase (via Lovable Cloud) — hosting, database, authentication, and file storage
  • Resend — sending resource-delivery emails
  • Mailgun (via Lovable Emails) — sending account and authentication emails
  • Google / YouTube — hosting embedded videos

Some of these providers are based outside the UK and EEA. Where data is transferred internationally, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.

We may also disclose data if required by law.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data and download history for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward in case you return or for our legitimate record-keeping. Marketing consent records are kept while you are subscribed and for a period after you unsubscribe to evidence that we honoured your choice. Analytics data is retained in aggregate. You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see below).

Marketing emails and unsubscribing

If you have subscribed, we may email you updates about new resources and the platform. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time by clicking it or by contacting team@salesatstartups.com. Unsubscribing stops marketing emails; we may still send essential account or service emails (for example, a password reset you request).

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to: access the data we hold about you; have inaccurate data corrected; have your data erased; restrict or object to certain processing; data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, contact team@salesatstartups.com. We will respond within the time limits set by law.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, though we ask that you contact us first so we can try to resolve it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed. Material changes will be reflected here.
